Hear from some of our students about their previous school experiences:

“Most people have friends when they go to school. They at least have some group of people to hang out with. My school experience was different. I was fine academically, but socially it was a different story. I was always the odd one out.”

“Most of my preschool free time was spend on the “time-out” seat in the corner of the room isolated from the other children. When my teacher asked me to do something, it took my brain two minutes to process what she said, so I would just keep dancing or singing.”

“The teacher started to being mean to me because I have ADHD. She pointed out all of my flaws and put me alone so much that the other kids thought I was weird or something.”

“I would come home every day from school on a sad note, slump into bed, and hope the next day would be better.”

“I was extremely unhappy, but I was so stuck that I couldn’t stand the thought of really making a change.”

“When I had trouble comprehending something, my teacher yelled at the top of his lungs.”
