Boulder Creek Academy is located in the Kootenai River Valley at the base of the pristine Cabinet Mountains. The geography and four-season climate guarantees our students enjoy a variety of activities. We love downhill and cross-country skiing, swimming, boating, camping, hiking, and more.
The small town of Bonners Ferry is nearby and has been honored as “Idaho’s Most Friendly Community” in recent years. Bonners Ferry is also known as the International Gateway to Idaho, with its proximity to the Canadian border.
The larger community of Sandpoint is also close and has been voted as the country’s most beautiful small town by USA Today and Rand McNally. Located on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille, the fifth largest lake in the western United States, and surrounded by the Selkirk and Cabinet Mountain ranges, Sandpoint is also home to Schweitzer Mountain, a world-class destination ski resort. Sandpoint enjoys a rich cultural life, including an internationally acclaimed two-week long music festival every summer.
The nearest “big city” is Spokane, Washington, home to Spokane International Airport. Spokane’s history is as rich and vibrant as the city itself. Downtown features wonderfully preserved brick buildings, great restaurants, shopping and entertainment. The Spokane River rushes right through the heart of downtown.
