2018 Adventures & Expeditions

Schweitzer Ski Adventure Weekend
Join us for a weekend of fun at Sandpoint Idaho’s Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Our home base at Schweitzer features incredible views of three mountain ranges, Lake Pend Oreille, Canada and three states. There is a variety of terrain to enjoy from smooth corduroy groomers to wide open bowls and great tree skiing. Schweitzer boasts the only six-person, high-speed lift in the state. You don’t have to ski to join in on this weekend. There are many activities to enjoy including tubing, sitting by a crackling fire sipping hot chocolate, cross country skiing, building a snowman, and spending quality time with your child. If you’d like to learn to ski or snowboard, we will arrange lessons for you. This weekend getaway conveniently

Lake Pend Oreille Getaway DSCN4273
We’ve rented a beautiful home on the banks of Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint, Idaho, which will be our home-base for the weekend. Lake Pend Oreille is Idaho’s largest lake and one of the deepest inland lakes in North America. Formed by glaciers and encircled by mountain peaks and deep green forests, the lake creates a wonderful playground. Our days will be full with kayaking or canoeing, biking, and sharing meals.

Idaho’s Salmon River Whitewater Rafting
Experience an unforgettable trip on Idaho’s premier wild and scenic river. The Salmon flows through the largest wilderness area in the Lower 48. We’ll travel through marvelous steep-walled gorges on our way to a vast and truly western landscape. Wildlife and evidence of early pioneers are abundant along the riverbanks. The Salmon features white sand beaches perfect for relaxing or tossing a Frisbee. Tents, sleeping bags, and wonderful meals are all provided. Float the river, gaze at the stars; enjoy time with your family. Share your stories and be a part of your child’s Northwest Academy experience.

Glacier National Park GetawayGlacier
Glacier National Park in Montana will be our home for the weekend. The national treasure encompasses more than one million acres and the natural beauty is breathtaking with glacier-carved terrain that encompasses wild meadows, glistening clear rivers, stunning 400-foot waterfalls, striking rock faces and dramatic mountain peaks, it’s truly unlike any place on earth. We’ll be staying in cabins in a remote camp in the park. The professionals from Glacier Institute will be providing us with educationally-based day and evening programming. We will enjoy learning about the natural history of the park, participate in day hikes, partake in wonderful meals, plus laughter, camaraderie and fun are on tap.
