2018 Adventures & Expeditions
Schweitzer Ski Adventure Weekend
Join us for a weekend of fun at Sandpoint Idaho’s Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Our home base at Schweitzer features incredible views of three mountain ranges, Lake Pend Oreille, Canada and three states. There is a variety of terrain to enjoy from smooth corduroy groomers to wide open bowls and great tree skiing. Schweitzer boasts the only six-person, high-speed lift in the state. You don’t have to ski to join in on this weekend. There are many activities to enjoy including tubing, sitting by a crackling fire sipping hot chocolate, cross country skiing, building a snowman, and spending quality time with your child. If you’d like to learn to ski or snowboard, we will arrange lessons for you. This weekend getaway conveniently.
Gray Wolf Family Adventure
Take a journey with Gray Wolf, a historian who has spent the last 20 years sharing his knowledge and experience of Native American culture with groups of all ages. You and your family will stay in an authentic tipi, learn archery and tomahawk throwing and spend the days around the campfire sharing stories with Gray Wolf and discussing topics such as humility and accountability.
Lake Pend Oreille Getaway
We’ve rented a beautiful home on the banks of Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint, Idaho, which will be our home-base for the weekend. Lake Pend Oreille is Idaho’s largest lake and one of the deepest inland lakes in North America. Formed by glaciers and encircled by mountain peaks and deep green forests, the lake creates a wonderful playground. Our days will be full with kayaking or canoeing, biking, and sharing meals.
Glacier Park Rafting & Horseback Riding
Glacier National Park is a land of shining mountains, sweeping alpine views and aquamarine glacial waters stretching across thousands of miles of snow-capped Rocky Mountain peaks in Northwest Montana. On this adventure we spend a couple of hours horseback riding through the national park and enjoy a steak dinner at the end of our journey. We overnight in beautiful cabins and when the next day dawns, we begin a whitewater rafting trip on the Flathead River. The river runs along the edge of Glacier National Park and we’ll experience the best white water rafting Montana has to offer in addition to fly fishing, great conversations around the campfire and more. (Please note that for those who do not want to participate in the horseback ride a hike will be offered as an alternative.)
Glacier National Park Getaway
Glacier National Park in Montana will be our home for the weekend. The national treasure encompasses more than one million acres and the natural beauty is breathtaking with glacier-carved terrain that encompasses wild meadows, glistening clear rivers, stunning 400-foot waterfalls, striking rock faces and dramatic mountain peaks, it’s truly unlike any place on earth. We’ll be staying in cabins in a remote camp in the park. The professionals from Glacier Institute will be providing us with educationally-based day and evening programming. We will enjoy learning about the natural history of the park, participate in day hikes, partake in wonderful meals, plus laughter, camaraderie and fun are on tap.
