The Boundary County Fair took place August 17-20 and students took pride in submitting various artwork and vegetables grown directly by them on the Boulder Creek Academy Farm.
As a result, the horticulture students won blue ribbons for their pumpkin submission (plus a Best-of-Class), a canary melon, a giant head of cabbage, 3 dahlias, and several bulls horn peppers. They also won several second place ribbons and added a couple of third place ribbons as well.
The art projects also received acclaim and one student won a blue ribbon on his hand-carved spoon, along with a Best-of-Class, and a Reserve Champion. Another student received a blue ribbon for his hand-made wind chime, and two other art students won second place for their art drawings.
It was a fun, rewarding and confidence building activity for the kids and we would like to congratulate them and thank our Farm Manager, Charles, for providing the opportunity and support for this event!
